Aaron Carpenter began April 9 as the new director of worship for the St. Cloud Diocese. He replaces Timothy Johnston who took a position with Liturgy Training Publications in Chicago earlier this year.
Carpenter had served as the worship and music director at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Maple Grove, Minnesota, for the last 20 years.
He also serves as the artistic director for Land Of Lakes Choirboys. He has worked with the choir for 15 years.
Originally from LeMars, Iowa, he earned a bachelor’s degree in music with a vocal performance emphasis in 1997 from St. John’s University in Collegeville.
He and his wife, Maria, are the parents of three children.
