Here’s a listing of September festivals around the diocese.

A study day Sept. 4 will focus on response to collapsing communities, societal divides

The youngest of three children of Thomas Stoy and Brigid Fitzgerald, Gilbrian was a member of St. Mary Parish in Little Falls.

Crosier Brother Albert Leo Becker, 69, died Aug. 16 at the Crosier Priory in Onamia. There will be a public vigil from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the Crosier Priory church in Onamia. The vigil continues at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, with the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. A luncheon follows. Burial will be private at a later date.

About a thousand people gathered at the Amanda and Randy Hurting Family Farm in St. Anthony Aug. 18 for the annual Diocesan Rural life Celebration.

The book, “By His Mercy 2: Living All In,” is an extension of the first book, “By His Mercy,” which was published in late 2018. Both books were coordinated by Tricia Walz, who lives in St. Cloud and attends St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Benedictine Father Hilary Donald Thimmesh, 91, died Aug. 11 in the retirement center at St. John’s Abbey, Collegeville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 16 at 3:30 p.m. in St. John’s Abbey and University Church with interment in the St. John’s Cemetery following the service.

Thanks to an article about the No One Dies Alone program at St. Cloud Hospital, the program gained 15 new volunteers for this ministry.
