Sunday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)

Collegeville • Vigil of Christmas service with the St. John’s Monastic Community at 5 p.m. (Evening Prayer) and Christmas concert at 9:30 p.m. in Abbey Church followed by Christmas Eve Eucharist at 10 p.m. St. John’s Boys’ Choir and St. John’s Abbey Schola will sing in the concert and during Mass.

Little Falls • Christmas Eve Mass with the Franciscan Sisters at 7:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Francis Convent. Christmas caroling will begin at 7 p.m. Fellowship follows Mass.

Onamia • Solemn vespers (Vigil of Christmas) with the Crosier Fathers and Brothers at 4 p.m. in Holy Cross Priory Church.

St. Cloud • The Christmas Rosary — reflecting on mysteries of the Christmas season in prayer and song — is at 7:20 p.m. at St. Anthony Church. “Midnight Mass,” featuring traditional carols, begins at 8 p.m.

St. Cloud • Christmas Eve Mass celebrated at 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mass celebrated at 10 p.m. with Bishop Donald Kettler presiding, featuring Festival of Christmas Carols starting at 9:30 p.m.

St. Joseph • Caroling and Christmas Eucharist with the Benedictine Sisters at 9 p.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery. Shepherd’s Reception in Gathering Place follows service.

Christmas Masses interpreted for the deaf and persons with hearing disabilities will be celebrated in the St. Cloud Diocese at the following locations and times:

  • Sauk Rapids: Sacred Heart Church, Dec. 25, 9:30 a.m.
  • Zimmerman: Christ Our Light South Church, Dec. 25, 9 a.m.


Saturday, December 30

Little Falls • Sign up for an hour to pray with the Franciscan Sisters during the 24-Hour Year-End Prayer for Peace Vigil and Prayer Service starting today at 6 p.m. and continuing through tomorrow at 6 p.m. The prayer vigil is divided into one-hour segments — individuals are asked to sign-up to pray during one specific hour and fast for the 24 hours of the vigil. Participants can pray in their homes, at their churches or are welcome at St. Francis Convent. To participate in the prayer vigil, call the Franciscan Life Center at 320-632-0680 to register your preferred hour of prayer. Vigil concludes with New Year’s Eve prayer service. (Participation in the vigil is not a prerequisite to attending the prayer service.)

St. Joseph • Imaging Peace prayer service with the Benedictine Sisters from 6 to 7 a.m. in Oratory at St. Benedict’s Monastery. Celebration of Eucharist at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel.
