Collaboration, mission are focus of Leadership Day

Diocesan staff and parish and school leaders from around the diocese gathered at Seven Dolors in Albany Oct. 24 for Leadership Day with the theme “Eucharist: One in Mission and Ministry.”

Presenter Doug Tooke spoke to the group about collaboration, delegation and conflict management. Took is the vice president of ministry advancement for ODB Films as well as an adjunct staff member with Life Teen International.

Attendees participated in table discussions about scenarios that touched on collaboration and conflict management in the context of Area Catholic Communities.

During his presentation, Doug Tooke talked about collaboration. He said working collaboratively releases passion, creativity, commitment, ownership and enthusiasm.
Later, he talked about how Pope Francis has said the Church should be like a field hospital, ministering to those most in need. “Are you serving in all your ministries, the most broken first?”
