Doug Tooke to address parents, leadership and youth

With more than 20 years of professional ministry experience, Doug Tooke has traveled to over 100 dioceses — teaching, keynoting conventions and training youth ministers. The vice president of ministry advancement for ODB Films and an adjunct staff member with Life Teen International, he will present four October events for the St. Cloud Diocese.

An evening to support and educate parents, titled “Passing on the Faith: Empowering and Equipping Parents for the Journey,” is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, at St. Paul Church, 1125 11th Ave. N., St. Cloud. Parents will learn and share practical ways to engage their children and youth in building a stronger faith life. (Register at www.stcdio.org/parent-gathering.org.)

“Gathered as One,” a diocesan middle school gathering for those in grades six through eight, is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 219 2nd St. N., Sartell. A $5 donation is suggested for the evening of supper, games, music, fun, prayer, fellowship and learning about the Catholic faith. (Register at www.stcdio.org/msy-gathering.org.)

Leadership Day for all parish staffs and leadership, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, is at Seven Dolors Church, 151 2nd St. S., Albany. Tooke will facilitate sessions and conversations to help participants process the unique challenges that those in ministry in the St. Cloud Diocese face today. Titled “Eucharist: One in Mission and Ministry (Part 1),” the fee is $25. Leadership Day Part 2 will be held in April. (Register at www.stcdio.org/leadershipday2019.)

“Come to the Table,” the diocesan Catholic youth conference for grades nine through 12, is from 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Young Life Camp in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Tooke will be the keynoter for the event which also includes Mass with Bishop Donald Kettler, music with Joe Perry, workshops, reconciliation, adoration, recreation, food and fun.
