Events commemorate 100-year anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima

ST. CLOUD
To honor of the 100-year anniversary of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s request to the children of Fatima, Portugal, and mark her final apparition and the Miracle of the Sun, the Knights of Columbus Council #961 is hosting an event that begins with a prayer service at noon, Friday, Oct. 13, in the Prayer Garden at St. Katharine Drexel School, 428 2nd St. SE, St. Cloud.

At 12:15 p.m. there will be a rosary procession from the school to St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud with a statue of Mary from Fatima. A program, starting at 12:30 p.m., at the cathedral includes the crowning of Mary and eucharistic adoration until 4 p.m. The rosary will be prayed at 6:45 p.m. followed by evening prayer until 8 p.m. with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction.

ALBANY
Seven Dolors Parish in Albany has a special day of adoration planned for Friday, Oct. 13, beginning with Mass at 7:30 a.m. followed by confession at 8 a.m., the rosary at 9 a.m. and the Seven Sorrows Rosary at 10 a.m.

Father Julius Beckermann will talk on adoration at 11 a.m. and the Angelus, a prayer to Mary, will be prayed at noon, followed by Liturgy of the Hours at 1 p.m. and the rosary at 2 p.m. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at 3 p.m. with the rosary at 4 p.m. Father Dan Walz will speak about Fatima at 5 p.m. followed by Benediction at 6 p.m.

Quiet time will be a part of the entire day. Coffee and treats will be served in the gathering area from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A closing reception will take place at 6 p.m.

COLD SPRING
The Knights of Columbus Council #5344 will host a public rosary at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Boniface Church in Cold Spring to honor of the 100-year anniversary of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s request to the children of Fatima for prayer and penance.

ISANTI
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Isanti will mark Mary’s final apparition with a special Mass at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and a presentation by school children about Mary’s message followed by praying the rosary.
