The annual novena of rosaries preceding the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary begins 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at Assumption (Grasshopper) Chapel and continues daily — rain or shine — through Aug. 15. The novena each evening includes song, rosary, special prayer and petitions.
The vigil Mass commemorating the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated at Assumption Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15, with presider Benedictine Father Matthew Luft, pastor of St. Boniface Parish, following the 7 p.m. rosary. In case of inclement weather, the event will be at St. Boniface Church on Main Street in Cold Spring.
The chapel is located off Highway 23: Turn onto Chapel Street and follow signs to Pilgrimage Road and chapel nestled in trees. Bring a lawn chair. For more information, call Isabelle Meyer at 320-685-3563.
