From Nov. 18 to 22, Catholic Community Schools will host its first ever open house week where all seven schools in the system will host tours during the school day.
“We think it’s important to experience what it is like here while school is in session — with kids in the hallway and teachers in the classroom,” said Kelly Vangsness, principal of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to go online or call one or more of the schools to set up a tour during the open house week. If parents are considering Catholic education but are choosing between schools, this week provides an opportunity to schedule multiple tours the same week.
Christina Oliver, director of marketing for CCS, recognizes that families have busy and varied schedules.
“I hope this model will allow for families to choose the day and choose the time that works for them,” she said.
Families are encouraged to ask questions about curriculum, school culture, extracurricular activities and affordability to equip them to make the best decision for their child.
“When families come for a visit, I hope they immediately feel welcomed, because they truly are,” said Denise Klein, director of admissions for Cathedral Middle and High School.
CCS highlights the value of community they hope is apparent when families visit.
“It is something you can feel as soon as you walk through the halls,” Klein added. “Our students and staff genuinely care about one another and that spirit of support is evident in everything we do.”
