A Mass for Peace and Justice will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at St. Augustine Church, 442 2nd St. SE, in St. Cloud.
In light of recent incidents of violence and racial tension in communities across the United States, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has asked every diocese to observe a Day of Prayer for Peace in Our Communities on Sept. 9. Bishop Kettler is marking the day with this Mass.
In July, in the wake of shootings in Dallas, Baton Rouge and Falcon Heights, Minnesota, Bishop Kettler, writing in The Visitor, said people of faith must counter violence by continuing “to pray for peace in our communities, work for justice and foster a culture of life in all that we say and do.”
