The Office of Worship of the St. Cloud Diocese has produced “Engaging the Mystery: Catechesis on the Mass,” a DVD series of more than 14 short videos that walk through the parts of the Mass. The series was created to help parishes facilitate catechetical discussions on “why we do what we do at Mass.”
The videos focus on theological and historical gems contained in both the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The series will address most frequently asked questions and seeks to initiate conversations in the parish. It can be used in the RCIA process, religious education programs, Bible study groups, or small faith communities.
The DVDs are being mailed to parishes in early February. Each parish and school will receive a copy of the DVD and a study guide, titled “The Mystery of Faith,” to help with discussion questions and offer further background information on the Mass.
How can I get my own copy of : “Catechesis of the Mass”
At this time, only a limited number of copies of the DVD have been made; they will be arriving in parishes very soon. Right now, the best thing to do is to contact your parish to see what it may have planned for its copy regarding viewing. If more copies become available, that information will be communicated to parishes and through The Visitor newspaper.
