Headlining the event this year are Archbishop Jose Gomez, archbishop of Los Angeles and current president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Obianuju Ekeocha, founder and president of Culture of Life Africa.

Political activism is important, but it can only be authentic if it is rooted in Christ

This year, the bishops of Minnesota are hosting an exciting event in St. Paul on March 9 called Catholics at the Capitol.

The event is meant to be more than an issue lobbying day, said Jason Adkins, MCC executive director. He hopes participants gain a deeper understanding of how Catholic teaching can shape their approach in the public square.
