Eucharistic Revival

The first of three Eucharist-themed Regional Ministry Gatherings kicked off Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Fergus Falls with Crookston Bishop Andrew Cozzens giving the keynote presentation.

Author Deacon Dennis Lambert’s focus is on the Catholic concept of “real presence” and a better understanding of Catholic beliefs about the Eucharist and holy Communion.

Bishop Andrew Cozzens, chair of the National Eucharistic Revival, will speak in both English and Spanish about the Eucharist as an integral part of the Catholic faith and the importance of the revival.

Relics of St. Manuel Gonzalez Garcia and Blessed Carlo Acutis, patrons of the National Eucharistic Revival, will be available for veneration in three parishes in the Diocese of St. Cloud between Sept. 30 and Oct. 5.

The first gathering is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Victory in Fergus Falls with Bishop Andrew Cozzens of Crookston. In addition to his presentation, the relics of Blessed Carlo Acutis and St. Manuel Gonzalez Garcia, patrons of the Eucharistic Revival, will be on display there as part of a national tour.

In early May, the Minnesota priest was named one of 58 National Eucharistic Preachers as part of the National Eucharistic Revival, which is an initiative of the USCCB.

The 2022 procession comes about two months after the launch of the U.S. Catholic Church’s three-year National Eucharistic Revival.
