Catholic Charities announces a new director of behavioral health

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud has a new director on the organization’s leadership team. Alyssa Knese was promoted to director of behavioral health.

Alyssa Knese was promoted from clinical director of Granite City Counseling (formerly Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Clinic) to director of behavioral health in November. Knese will oversee Granite City Counseling and the Day Treatment Programs in both St. Cloud and Elk River for Catholic Charities. Prior to being clinic director, Alyssa worked for Catholic Charities as a licensed therapist

“Alyssa has been with Catholic Charities for almost seven years, spending much for that time leading our Behavioral Health Clinic. Now she has the opportunity to positively impact all of our mental health programs and initiatives in her new role,” said Aaron Fisk, president and CEO of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud. “Alyssa consistently demonstrates our core values of dignity, hope, compassion, service, respect and accountability and we are truly excited for Alyssa in her new role,”

Knese has a master’s degree in social work from St. Cloud State University and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She is from Sauk Rapids and, during her free time, enjoys spending time with her dogs, running marathons and competing in triathlons.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to serve individuals in the St. Cloud area and its surrounding communities through the lens of mental health,” said Knese. “As my involvement in our programs continues to grow, I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside both staff and clients alike throughout the department of behavioral health.”
