Catholic Charities’ Mardi Gras celebration will be free, all-virtual event

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud hosts its 40th annual Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday, Jan. 22, starting at 7 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 situation with the fast-spreading omicron variant and the impact the virus is having on community members and employees, Mardi Gras 2022 will be a free, all-virtual event. Tickets are available with pre-registration at www.ccstcloud.org.

The celebration will be livestreamed and feature music by the Vista Jazz Club and the Fabulous Armadillos. Guests will hear inspiring and heartwarming client stories, can bid on silent auction items online and can support the two benefiting programs during the online Fund-a-Need special pledge appeal. The silent auction opens Wednesday, Jan. 19, at noon and closes Saturday, Jan. 22, at 9 p.m.

Mardi Gras is Catholic Charities’ “Celebration with a Cause” and each year raises money for two of the organization’s important community programs: Emergency Services and Domus Transitional Housing.

Catholic Charities Emergency Services provides members of the community with food, warm clothing and financial assistance during times of specific need. Catholic Charities Domus Transitional Housing provides temporary, service-enriched, shared living transitional housing designed for mothers and their children up to 12 years old.
