Offensive or not, the specificity of the description of Levine was unnecessary and unwarranted; “the first openly transgender nominee” would have sufficed.
The media is not even-handed in the way it handles descriptions when it involved gender. Many times stories about women feel compelled to describe her as “a grandmother” rather than simply “a woman.” I can think of no instance where a similar story stated “a grandfather” rather than “a man.” Or stories of women in public service that detail what she was wearing. Would/Do we EVER write that about a male public servant?!
I agree with the locking of your account. Your TWEET was prejudicial in tone because of the level of specificity it included, given the stance(s) of the Catholic Church, which are well known and documented. If your readers want to know more, they can do the research themselves.
