Cemetery saints walk to return Oct. 30 and Nov. 3

By Gianna Bonello

The saints are back! The “Back from the Dead Cemetery Walk” is returning to Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud for two nights of live-action saint walks.

The walks will take place Saturday, Oct. 30, and Wednesday, Nov. 3, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Assumption Cemetery. Each walk lasts about 30 minutes, with the final walk beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Join saints such as St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Josephine Bahkita as they “come alive” to teach topics surrounding the last things, including the communion of saints, angels, purgatory, heaven and hell.

Registration is free, but visitors need to reserve a time by emailing Angel Statz or Brenda Berg-Arnold at cemeterywalkst.cloud@gmail.com or by calling Brenda at 320-363-1077.

“This is a great event for faith formation groups, especially confirmation students,” said Berg-Arnold, one of the coordinators of the walk.

“Back from the Dead” is a student-performed “evangelization drama” that also helps teach visitors about the virtues of faith, hope and charity in an inspiring and engaging way.

“Back from the Dead” was written by Father Brian Nolan and received an imprimatur from Archbishop William Lori of the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 2014.

Families and student groups are encouraged to attend. While the stories are not presented in a scary manner, some content may be disturbing for children 14 and under.
