The ordination is rescheduled from its orginal date of Oct. 9.

Charles and his wife, Karen, have six children and two grandchildren. He has been self-employed for 35 years, mostly as a real estate broker, developer and single-family home builder. He earned a master’s degree in ministry from St. John’s School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville in 2021.

“I believe the call to the diaconate started about 15 years ago,” Charles said. “I have been involved in lay ministry for a long time and I have felt that God was calling me to give more of myself. I feel that serving as a deacon in our faith will allow me to serve God and the Church community in a more devoted way and I will have the ability as ordained clergy to minister to more of God’s children.”
