The diocesan vocations office sponsored their annual Vocation Camp June 10-12 at the Jon Rutten place on Lake Osakis. Father Doug Liebsch, diocesan director of vocations, along with seminarians from the diocese gathered with young men in grades 7-12 for three days packed with activities like fishing, swimming, frisbee and kickball. The event also included Mass, confession and eucharistic adoration.
The theme of this year’s camp was based on Galatians 2:20: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
“One of the expectations of the camp is that all those in attendance play hard and pray hard,” said Father Liebsch. “That was certainly met! It is always an awesome time to be among the participants and the seminarians. Our seminarians are incredibly gifted and one of the most rewarding aspects for me is seeing them praying hard with the participants in the chapel and playing hard with them on the sports field. It is a great combo.”
