Claiming Our Stories: A Memoir Writing Workshop — St. Joseph, St. Benedict’s Monastery

St. Joseph • Spirituality Center at St. Benedict’s Monastery hosts first session of “Claiming Our Stories: A Memoir Writing Workshop,” from 9 a.m. to noon led by Benedictine Sister Mara Faulkner. Other sessions are Saturdays, Feb. 23 and March 2. Participants will experiment with the interplay between memory and imagination, experience and invention, and the story of one person or family and the world in which the story unfolds. Memoirs begin with stories and lead us to spiritual and ethical questions about the writing self, the subject at the heart of the story and the world surrounding it. Claim the story only you can tell and learn powerful ways to tell it. Fee is $120 for the series. Limited to 12 participants.
