St. Joseph • Conference retreat with the monastic community titled “A Paschal Christ at the Heart of the Rule” starts this evening at 7 p.m. and continues through 6 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at St. Benedict’s Monastery. Benedictine Sister Marielle Frigge from the Sacred Heart Monastery in Yankton, South Dakota, is the leader for this retreat which focuses on Christ as Pascha — the one whom God brought through death to new life — as the Rule of Benedict’s core image of Christ. Conferences (at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.) explore how this central image informs Benedict’s vision of monastic life, especially conversatio, and shapes several other images of Christ in the Rule: Father, Teacher, Shepherd, Healer, Lord and King. The fee is $400, which includes meals and overnight accommodations. For more information or to register, visit https://sbm.osb.org/event/a-paschal-christ-at-the-heart-of-the-rule/.
