“Peace, the Contemplative Life, and Sustainable Living” — St. Joseph, St. Benedict’s Monastery
St. Joseph • Spirituality Center at St. Benedict’s Monastery hosts “Peace, the Contemplative Life, and Sustainable Living” from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today and Feb. 14 and 21. Led by Benedictine Oblate Becky Van Ness and Benedictine Sister Mara Faulkner, participants will discuss “The Many Sides of Peace: Christian Nonviolence, the Contemplative Life, and Sustainable Living” by Brayton Shanley. They will explore how nonviolent love can transform our environmentally-threatened planet and its combative people, including ourselves. (Participants will need to purchase the book.) Fee is $75.
