In some Hispanic churches, it is customary to bring figurines of the Christ Child to Mass during Advent. This tradition (“Bambinelli Sunday”) entails having these images blessed before placing them in the family manger scene. The Christ figurine is placed in the Nacimiento (Nativity scene crib) at midnight when the family sings a lullaby to the baby Jesus, “Duerme y no llores Jesús del alma (Sleep, do not cry, Jesus of the soul).”
