Festive feast day: Long Prairie parish celebrates Our Lady of Guadalupe

St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Long Prairie was filled to capacity Dec. 11 to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is Dec. 12. Children of the parish started off the festive event, gathering around the statue of Mary singing and offering flowers. After Mass, parishioners stayed to watch a re-enactment of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s appearance to St. Juan Diego. A potluck dinner and live music followed.
