Fifth Sunday of Lent, veneration of Veronica’s Veil

The relic of “the holy face” or Veronica’s veil and other major relics kept in St. Peter’s Basilica were displayed April 7 during vespers on the fifth Sunday of Lent, also known as “Passion Sunday. The traditional veneration of the relics dates back to the 17th century.
