Fourteenth Station: Jesus is Placed in the Tomb

By Bishop Donald Kettler
Bishop of the Diocese of St. Cloud

St. Marys Cathedral in St. Cloud

John the Apostle, Nicodemus, Joseph of Arimathea and the holy women place Jesus’ body in the tomb, which had been hewn out of rock.

The tomb, although they did not know it yet, will be the place of Jesus’ glorious resurrection and life.

O, God, who willed to save all humankind from sin and death, grant that we will know the mystery of your love for us.

May we be witnesses of this love in our own words and actions.

Heart of Jesus, hope of all who die in you, have mercy on us. This we ask in your name, Jesus. You are our Lord and Savior. Amen.
