The Centered on Christ Area Catholic Community is excited to announce an upcoming workshop titled, “How to Share Your Testimony,” that will take place on Aug. 19 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
The workshop states that, “Your story matters. Whether Jesus entered your life in a loud, dramatic way, or your story tells of his slow and quiet pursuit of your heart, this Testimony Workshop will help you make sense of your story.”
Melaine Myklebust, the event’s main presenter said, “We offered our first testimony workshop last year, and the fruit that came from it been astounding. As my friends and family members started to share where they’ve been and where the Lord has taken them, I found myself feeling sorrow at their hardships and rejoicing when I heard how the Lord remained steadfast through it all. This experience united us as a Catholic community, and it helped us to marvel at the goodness of God.”
By the end of the workshop, she says participants will be able to confidently share out loud what Jesus has done for them as well as provide tools to share their testimony with others.
“My hope is that by offering this testimony workshop again, we will continue to cultivate a community where people feel safe to be received, just as they are,” Myklebust said. “Testimonies can be messy and vulnerable, but they glorify God. When we speak about how Jesus broke into our lives and has transformed us, we offer real hope to others. This workshop will provide the basic framework for crafting a testimony, but the heart of it lies in everyday people taking that first step and allowing their stories to be used. With St. Paul as our guide, we see that we don’t have to be polished or articulate. We simply need to show up and God will do the rest. ”
