The annual novena of outdoor Masses at Assumption (Grasshopper) Chapel began May 3 and continues for eight consecutive Thursday evenings. Dates are May 10, 17, 24, 31 and June 7, 14, 21 and 28.The annual Mass of Thanksgiving atthe chapel is Thursday, July 19, and thecelebration of the Feast of the Assumptionof Mary is Wednesday, Aug. 15.
The rosary is prayed at 7 p.m. followed by Mass at 7:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair. In case of rain or cold weather, the Mass will take place in St. Boniface Church on Main St. in Cold Spring.
The chapel, built in 1877, is located east of Cold Spring. (Turn off Hwy. 23 onto Chapel St.; follow signs to Pilgrimage Road and chapel nestled in trees.) For questions, call Kristi at 320-443-3101.
