Hall of famers . . . forever

St. Mary’s Cathedral was filled for the 21st annual Honoring Marriage Day Mass and celebration with Bishop Donald Kettler May 5. Couples celebrating milestone anniversaries of 5, 25, 40, 50, 60 and 60+ this calendar year were recognized.

“It is only right and necessary that we celebrate in a special way, why you are here today – for 5, 25, 40, 50, 60 and more years of marriage,” Bishop Donald Kettler told the anniversary couples gathered. “No hall of fame remembers and honors anything more important and wonderful than this.”

He thanked them for their witness to marriage and their families. “I thank God for the hall of famers we have here with us today,” he said.

All couples in attendance were invited to renew their commitment to each other, and those celebrating 50 or more years of marriage received a special certificate from Bishop Kettler.
