Mass of Hope and Healing set for Oct. 27

The annual Mass of Hope and Healing will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Sacred Heart Church in Sauk Rapids.

Father Tom Knoblach, pastor of Sacred Heart, will celebrate this special Mass for couples who have suffered the loss of a child in any way, including through miscarriage, SIDS, illness, accident, and abortion as well as those experiencing infertility.

“I would hope that people will experience the love and mercy of God and the community of faith,” Father Knoblach said.

“This Mass is always a profoundly holy time when the meaning of the Eucharist, to unite our needs and sorrows with the mystery of the Lord’s Cross, become so transparent, and the hope of healing and future joy in the Risen Jesus is tangible,” he said.

The event will include a candle-lighting ceremony to remember those who have died.

It is a reminder that each of us carries some losses, even when no one else knows, and that Jesus always stands by His words: ‘Come to Me, and I will give you rest,'” Father Knoblach said.

Refreshments will be served after Mass.
