In making her first monastic profession, Sister Bridgette Powers reads the
monastic promises to her fellow Sisters of St. Benedict July 11, the feast of St. Benedict, in a private ceremony in the monastery’s Sacred Heart Chapel. Sisters of St. Benedict’s Monastery usually spend four or more years in first profession while they continue to discern whether God is calling them to a lifelong commitment to monastic life. Sister Bridgette graduated from the College of St. Benedict in 2009 and from St. John’s School of Theology in 2015. She will serve in campus ministry at the College of St. Benedict and has been invited to participate in a leadership program by CSB President Mary Hinton.
