Pack the Porches event benefits Emergency Services Food Shelf

Every year in March, Minnesota FoodShare conducts a campaign to restock food shelves throughout the state. The organization solicits donations from Minnesota corporations, pools those funds, and then challenges food shelves to collect as much food and as many funds as they can. The more they gather in locally during Minnesota FoodShare Month, the more they can receive from the incentive fund pool.

Pack the Porches is a community-wide food drive from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 24, to benefit the Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf.

People can bring donations of food or cash to any of three sites:

  • Pioneer Place on Fifth at 22 5th Ave. S., St. Cloud;
  • St. Cloud Hyundai at 900 2nd St. S., Waite Park (next to Menards); and
  • HealthPartners Clinic at 2251 Connecticut Ave. S., Sartell.

Donations can also be made online at ccstcloud.org (Click on “Pack the Porches”). Coborn’s will match all donations up to 10,000 pounds of food.
