Students from St. John’s University and the College of St. Benedict gathered Feb.28 for what likely was the first student Mass ever on the ice of Lake Sagatagan. Braving temperatures hovering near zero, the students each grabbed a folding chair on their way down the hill to the student beach area, where torches and a spotlight lit a circle cleared on the ice for Mass.
