Pope Benedict XVI: His life and legacy in photos

Retired Pope Benedict XVI died Dec. 31 at the age of 95, nearly 10 years after leaving the papacy to retire to a life of prayer and study. His life and papacy are well-documented in photographs. Here is a selection:
