David Fremo, director of campus ministry at St. John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville, has been named to Creighton University’s Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society.

This chapter recognizes students and alumni for their commitment to service, academics and loyalty. He was honored during a ceremony at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska Feb. 11.
“I was just overwhelmed,” said Fremo, who found out about the honor when he received an email of congratulations while traveling home from a recent conference.
Fremo is currently working toward a master’s degree in educational leadership at the Jesuit university and will graduate in May. He was nominated for the honor society by one of his professors.
Students are nominated when they meet the academic qualifications. A selection process follows based on demonstration of loyalty to Jesuit ideals, charisms and service. Less than 1 percent of the Creighton student population receives this honor.
“I felt very honored by it,” he said. “It’s a tremendous group of people that I’ve been studying with.”
Fremo previously earned a bachelor of arts degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville in 1999 and a master of arts in Theology from St. John’s School of Theology and Seminary in 2013, focusing on Scripture, the early church and systematics.
