Pro-life advocates gathered Jan. 22 at the Minnesota State Capitol for the 44th March for Life. The annual event, sponsored by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, marks the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Jan. 22, 1973, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions and commemorates the lives lost to abortion. Parishioners from around the diocese — including buses from Rockville, Sauk Centre and St. Cloud — attended the rally.

Several state legislators were in attendance and were introduced during the program on the Capitol steps.

MCCL’s legislative agenda for this year calls for the legislature to ban taxpayer funded abortions and to defund Planned Parenthood. The group also is working for licensing and inspection of abortion facilities.
