Religious communities host summer vocation camps for girls

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls are hosting the 10th annual Franciscan Girls Camp, “Faith and Fun with Franciscans,” from 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, through 6 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in Assisi Park, located on the grounds at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. This year’s theme is “Dance the Circle of Sacredness.”

Girls who have completed grades six through eight are invited to enjoy a variety of nature and fun activities, campfires, prayer and singing. Participants will have an opportunity to visit with and learn about the Franciscan sisters and the values of St. Francis of Assisi.

The Sisters of St. Benedict invite girls to two “Girls, God and Good Times” camps. For girls presently in fourth and fifth grades, the camp will be June 12-14; for girls presently in sixth through 10th grades the camp is June 26-28.

Among the activities are “lectio divina” with Stations of the Cross, adoration and prayer, participating with the sisters in the Eucharist, trolley rides, an ice cream social, arts and crafts, nature games, dancing and a bonfire.
