Sacred relics to be displayed at four churches

Companions of the Cross Father Carlos Martins will present “Exposition of Sacred Relics: Treasures of the Church” in four churches in the diocese in early May. He will bring approximately 150 relics for the display, including those of St. Joseph, St. Maria Goretti, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Faustina Kowalska. Highlights of the exposition are one of the largest certified relics of the true cross and a piece of the veil of Our Lady.

Father Martins begins each exposition by teaching about the relics. Presentations will be at the following parishes:

  • Wednesday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Assumption Church in Eden Valley;
  • Thursday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Gilman;
  • Saturday, May 8, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Milaca; and
  • Sunday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew Church in Elk River

Those who attend are invited to bring articles of devotion (such as rosaries or holy cards) and pictures of ill friends or family members, which they will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession. For more information, visit www.treasuresofthechurch.com.
