Sistine Chapel limited-time exhibit reopens at Mall of America

“Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” will be on display through Easter, April 4, at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The exhibit, produced by Los Angeles-based SEE Global Entertainment, originally opened in November, but closed temporarily due to Gov. Walz’s executive order on Nov. 20.

The limited-time exhibit, which re-opened in January, will continue to follow all safety protocols for in-person events established by the Centers for Disease Control, Minnesota Department of Health and Mall of America to promote the safety of all guests, including required masks and social distancing. For hours of operation, visit www.chapelsistine.com.

The Sistine Chapel exhibit allows visitors to experience Michelangelo’s renowned ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, reproduced in near-original size. The presentation includes 34 reproductions including “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgment.”

Guests may enhance their experience by adding an optional audio guide, with narrative accompaniment available in four languages. The audio guide may be accessed from a smartphone.

The exhibit is displayed on level two of the north atrium of the Mall of America, 2131 Lindau Lane, Bloomington, Minnesota. Tickets are $19; $14 for seniors, college students and military veterans; children 6 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased at www.chapelsistine.com and will also be available at the door.
