Did you know that rural suicide is up to three times higher than the national rate?
Clergy, lay ministers and parish leaders throughout the St. Cloud Diocese are invited to participate in an upcoming training series hosted by LivingWorks Faith and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Pastoral leaders are welcome to register for either the Northern or Southern training series.
The “Suicide Prevention for Rural Ministry” training is a four-week virtual course (1.5 hours each session) that invites faith leaders to learn about the realities of mental health and approaches and skills to equip them in “walking with their community regarding prevention, intervention and bereavement. The training draws on Christian theology, and includes insight, stories and guidance from clergy and others with experience of being impacted by suicide.
