Summer camps for youth to be hosted by Vocation Office, religious communities

•  The Vocation Office of the St. Cloud Diocese invites boys from grades seven through 10 to attend one of three vocation camps. They are from June 13-15 in Battle Lake, June 20-22 in Avon and July 11-13 in Big Lake.

Daily activities include morning and evening prayer, presentations, vocation stories, breakout sessions, adoration, confession, rosary, Mass, soccer, ultimate Frisbee and other games, swimming, fishing and campfires.

• The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls host the ninth annual Franciscan Girls Camp, titled “Faith and Fun with Franciscans,” from 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, through 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, in Assisi Park, located on the grounds of St. Francis Convent in Little Falls. This year’s theme is “Swimming in God’s Love.”

Girls who have completed grades 6-8 are invited to enjoy a variety of nature and fun activities, campfire, prayer and singing. Participants will have an opportunity to visit with and learn about the Franciscan sisters and the values of St. Francis of Assisi. In addition, campers will discover their unique gifts and become aware of God’s presence in their lives.

• The Sisters of St. Benedict’s Monastery in St. Joseph offer “Girls, God and Good Times” camps. The camp for girls presently in sixth through ninth grades is July 25-27; the camp for girls in fourth and fifth grades is already filled.

Among the activities are “lectio divina” with Stations of the Cross, adoration and prayer, participating with the sisters in the Eucharist, trolley rides, an ice cream social, arts and crafts, nature games, swimming, dancing, bonfire and visiting the monastery museum and art gallery.

The cost for each girl is $255 and includes all meals, housing, linens and activities. Financial aid is available. To reserve a space, camp fees must be paid by July 1.
