At the conclusion of the Synod on Synodality’s first session, a 41-page “half-time report” was issued to help give insight as to what lies ahead for the church.

When the church speaks of the need for unity, we typically gravitate to the important work of ecumenism…but, most regrettably, the need for unity has become an increasing and acute concern within our own fold.

“As believers, we need to trust that the more we walk together, the more we will be mysteriously accompanied by Christ, for unity is a shared pilgrimage,” the pope said.
