Every year on the feast of the Epiphany, Jan. 6, Polish cities are flooded with joyful Three Kings Parades. Designed as theatrical performances that recall the historical event of Jesus’ birth and the visit of the Magi who worshipped him 2,000 years ago, the parades’ purpose is to familiarize their audiences with the Gospel tradition.
In addition to Christmas Day, our church gives us not only the eight octave days following the Nativity, but much of January to allow our minds to grasp what has happened.

After preparing for the birth of Jesus with many traditions, thousands of Latinos in the United States will continue the Christmas season by celebrating Epifanía, or Epiphany.
“Humility is a word that comes to mind when I look at all the people and figures that we are honoring in the Diocese of St. Cloud in this new year of 2024,” writes Bishop Neary.
The Christmas season begins with vigil Masses on Christmas Eve and concludes on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Jan. 9.
Bishop Kettler will celebrate Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10 p.m., Dec. 24; local religious communities to host variety of celebrations.
