French police have charged a cathedral volunteer with “destruction and damage by fire” in connection to the blaze.
The blaze broke out in three places in the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul July 18.
The fire that ravaged Mission San Gabriel Arcángel church in the predawn hours of July 11 left behind a haunting scene.
“Evacuation drills and early detection of an emergency are key to everyone’s safety.”
A testament to the great Notre-Dame de Paris, “The Girl and the Cathedral” is a beautiful retelling of the history of the “greatest flower of Paris” and the “garden of people” who grew around it.
No one was inside the school at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The damage was confined to the interior southeast entry area.
Members of the committees working on the project gathered under and around a small tent on the future site for a blessing and photos as some parishioners watched from their cars because of the pouring rain.
The fire and the pledges to rebuild Notre Dame should also remind us of some other important things — about the Church and about the good that humanity can accomplish at its best.
