Is the Eucharist alive in your life? If not, would you like it to be? The celebrations of the sacred Paschal Triduum are a great place to start.

The week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, Holy Week, is the most sacred time of year. During this special time, we enter into the passion of Christ through liturgical celebration and personal conversion.

Celebrating the chrism Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica April 6, the pope addressed his homily to about 1,800 concelebrating priests in the basilica on what he called “the birthday of the priesthood,” the institution of the Eucharist that is celebrated on Holy Thursday.

From Rome to Mexico and the Middle East to the Diocese of St. Cloud, Christians around the globe shared in the liturgies and traditions of the Easter Triduum.

The pope celebrated the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper at the prison and washed the feet of 12 inmates — men and women of different ages and nationalities.

By approaching Holy Week with prayer and intention, we can gain a deeper understanding of Jesus’ love for us and draw closer to him.
