The U.S. bishops are encouraging people of faith to participate in a novena beginning Oct. 26 and ending Nov. 3, Election Day.

The “Novena for the Cause of Life” will be prayed over the nine days from Oct. 4 to Oct. 12 during the U.S. Catholic Church’s annual observance of October as Respect Life Month.
The novena “9 Days for Life” is a “powerful prayer initiative” for the end to abortion and for “the respect of all human life,” said the chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities.
Motivated by the upcoming change on the Supreme Court, the Knights of Columbus is urging its members and all Catholics to join in a novena to pray for the protection of human life in the law.
Catholics are being urged to participate in a nine-week effort of prayer, fasting and education that this change in the Court “will move our nation closer to the day when every human being is protected in law and welcomed in life.”
