By passing a bill to ban abortion in nearly all circumstances, the Alabama Legislature has recognized that abortion is “the extinguishing of a unique human life,” said the president and CEO of Americans United for Life.

During a Jan. 25, 2019, interview with Catholic News Service, lawyer Thomas Brejcha, chief counsel of the pro-life Thomas More Society, discussed the current legal landscape surrounding abortion, how current court and legislative battles fit into that landscape, and his hopes for the pro-life movement going forward.

In what Gov. Andrew Cuomo calls a “historic victory for New Yorkers,” New York has passed what may be the nation’s most extreme and irresponsible abortion law.

Officials at the New York State Catholic Conference are calling the Reproductive Health Act, which would increase access to abortion across the board, “worse than we thought it would be.”

“PLEASE NOTE: We plan to march even if the government shutdown is not yet resolved,” declares the March for Life website, marchforlife.org. “We have marched for 45 years and will march again this year to end the human rights abuse of abortion.”

Oour goal is not to be swayed by the consistent desensitization that our world has embraced.

A lot of the passion against the federal judge centered on concern that if Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh gets a seat on the Supreme Court, he could vote to overturn the court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

The case of Roe v. Wade and its companion case, Doe v. Bolton, are two glaring instances where our courts have gone amuck.
