Sister Karen, 66, is from Manchester, England. She entered the monastery in St. Joseph in 2009 and made perpetual monastic profession on July 11, 2012. She currently serves as the director of mission advancement at St. Benedict’s Monastery in St. Joseph.

Benedictine Sister Colette (Darlene) Primus, 89, died Jan. 4 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. The Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph with burial in the monastery cemetery. Friends may call at St. Scholastica Convent on Monday, Jan. 10, for a prayer service at 1 p.m., followed by visitation until 4:15 p.m., or for a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Monastery. Visitation continues at 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

Rule of St. Benedict to be immortalized in sculpture garden
The Rule of St. Benedict is approximately 1,500 years old, and thanks to a new sculpture at St John’s University in Collegeville, the Rule will be immortalized in a special way for even longer.
