Vocation camp participants witness seminarians’ admission to candidacy

Participants in this year’s diocesan vocation camp had the opportunity to attend the admission to candidacy of three of our seminarians — Thomas Dockendorf, Jack Massmann and Collin Prom. The 75 campers attended the Mass, celebrated by Bishop Patrick Neary, Aug. 4 at Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis. Following the Mass, the campers were treated to supper and games on the church lawn. Bishop Neary spoke to the young men before they headed back to the camp on Lake Osakis. The admission to candidacy is a significant step in a seminarian’s formation when the Church formally recognizes his readiness to continue preparing for priestly ordination and he publicly commits himself to that vocation.
