Volunteers needed at Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf

Catholic Charities’ Emergency Services Food Shelf is seeking volunteers to join the fight against hunger. The program provides access to healthy food for people faced with missing meals. It connects people who are able and willing to help those facing challenges in meeting their own or their family’s basic needs.

Catholic Charities’ Basic Everyday Essentials Program serves individuals living in the Diocese of St. Cloud and helps those in need with the essentials of daily living, including seasonally and work-appropriate clothing, bedding, towels, cookware and dinnerware.

Volunteer positions and tasks include:

  • Sorting, packing and assembling boxes of food for distribution.
  • Donation attendant.
  • Assisting at no-contact distributions.
  • Assist clients by helping them shop for clothing.

Emergency Services works to provide food, clothing and financial assistance to those in need. “Volunteers are critical to fulfill the mission of Catholic Charities. We can’t serve the Central Minnesota community without them,” said Annie Henriksen, volunteer coordinator. “I am thankful for each and every volunteer, for the work they do and the hope they inspire.”
