Minnesota Catholic Conference offers advocacy webinar for students

The Minnesota Catholic Conference will host an interactive webinar from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, to equip students with tools to advocate for life and dignity.

Bishop Andrew Cozzens

“Students innately understand these truths of our Catholic faith,” MCC said in an announcement about the event. “They are eager to make a difference in the world, but they don’t always know where or how to begin. It can seem intimidating to share these truths, their ideas, and their passion with their elected leaders — the adults that can help make their ideas for change a reality.”

After the webinar, students will better understand the Church’s teachings about life and dignity and be confident in how to effectively share those teachings with lawmakers, MCC said.

Topics covered during the event will include why Catholic students’ voices matter, how their ideas can become laws, and what the Church teaches about defending the life and dignity of every person.

Students should register at www.mncatholic.org/LessonsInAdvocacy to participate in the webinar. They will then be provided a link via email to the secure Zoom webinar.
